It is summer! And that means you will be cooling off in the pool right. We love all that sun and water and great tan lines right. But what does all that do for your hair. Chlorine is so hard on your hair not to mention turning it green if you have blonde hair, so how do you protect your hair from all those damaging rays and chlorine. I will tell you number one is getting a great conditioner. The summer sun dries out your hair just as much as it does your skin.
A great one I have found is the Hydrate conditioner from Purology. It is a great conditioner for all hair types and is minty so it leaves your scalp cooled off from the summer heat. The next step is before you get in the pool wet your hair and put on a little amount of that conditioner. This helps the hair from soaking up any of the chlorine water because your hair is already full so it won’t soak up the water. But if you still get green hair there is something you can do. GO to your local salon and purchase a purifying shampoo. This will strip the chlorine out of your hair leaving it chlorine free. Just be careful not to use it too many times because it can also dry out your hair.
